Q&A Section
We’d love you to, but no pressure — come for as long as you can!
If you’re traveling from overseas — first of all, we are SO excited to have you here!
Our suggestion: if you can, come earlier and spend a few days with us in Manly (Sydney’s Northern Beaches). We will most likely be off work leading up to the wedding, and would love to catch up at the beach, grab a drink at the pub, or do a few casual activities together.
Best Airport to Fly In:
Fly into Sydney Airport (SYD), which is the major international gateway to Australia. From there, you can easily get around Sydney and the Northern Beaches, including Manly.
Getting Around in Sydney:
You won’t need a car in Sydney, as public transport is excellent. Manly is very walkable, and you can easily get around using buses and ferries (the ferry ride from Circular Quay to Manly is a must-see!). Taxis and rideshares (like Uber) are also readily available.
To Get to Bangalay (Shoalhaven Heads):
For the drive down to Bangalay Luxury Villas, we suggest renting a car. It’s about a 2-hour drive south from Sydney. If you’re unfamiliar with driving in Australia, no worries — the route is simple and scenic.
If you’d rather not drive, we can help arrange private transport from Sydney to Bangalay. Alternatively, we can ask our local friends if they’re available to share a ride with you. Just let us know your preferences, and we’ll do our best to assist!
A few important notes:
Please arrange your own accommodation in Manly (or nearby) and plan your own activities.
We’ll definitely have time to hang out, but we won’t be formally planning your stay.
We’re very happy to give you recommendations for places to stay, things to do, and spots to eat and drink.
Heads up: Easter holidays in Australia start from April 3rd, and from then on accommodation and flights may get more expensive and busy — so it’s worth locking things in early if you can.
Of course — the more the merrier! But let us know, we'd love them to be a part of our ceremony!
Thursday Lawn Bowls & Dinner: Casual, but close toed shoes required!
Friday Beach Games: Activewear or Beachwear — comfy and ready to move! Think swimwear, board shorts, active shorts, rashies, tank tops, tees, hats, and sunnies. You’ll want to be ready for beach volleyball, cornhole and more!
Friday Pool Reception: Smart Casual — neat and relaxed. Shorts are fine, but pair them with a nice shirt or blouse. Sundresses, chinos, polos, or casual dresses work well. (Think: BBQ with a bit of effort.) - Pinterest Mood Board
Saturday Wedding Ceremony + Dinner: Beach Formal / Beach Cocktail — dress it up for the occasion but keep it comfortable and coastal. Flowy dresses, linen shirts, dressy flats or wedges (heels not ideal for grass and sand). No need for ties or full suits — just smart, breezy, and a little special - Pinterest Mood Board
Tip: Choose fabrics like linen, cotton, or light blends — it can still be warm in March!
We will be providing food and drinks for the Friday Pool Reception and Saturday Wedding Reception Dinner.
For all other events, it’s BYO — but we’ve got you covered with entry fees for activities like lawn bowling!
Every villa at Bangalay has a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook your own meals.
Bangalay Dining is also open to the public and offers exceptional breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
There’s an IGA (supermarket) just around the corner, a bottle shop nearby, plus a bunch of local pubs and restaurants to explore. Feel free to drive 15 minutes to Berry for a slightly bigger town with more access to the necessities.
Guests will need to cover their own accommodation costs.
We’ve reserved private villas at Bangalay Luxury Villas, but these will be offered first to close family and friends travelling from overseas.
If you’re not staying at Bangalay, we encourage you to check out local Airbnb options or the Holiday Haven Holiday Park, which is right next door and super convenient.
Tip: Book early — March is a popular time on the South Coast!
Your presence is the greatest gift! But if you’d like to contribute in another way, more details will follow.
We’ll keep updating the website as we lock in more details. Keep an eye out.
